JUSTICE J. B. KOSHY, Hon’ble Chairperson, Kerala Sate HumanRights Commission

Born in 1947, at Pathanamthitta, Kerala. Passed BSc Degree from Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram in 1966. Passed LLB and LLM from Government Law College, Ernakulam. Enrolled as an Advocate in High Court of Kerala in the year 1968. Served as counsel of various public and private sector undertakings. In the year 1996 joined as Judge of High Court of Kerala. In 2008, became Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Kerala. Became Chief Justice of Patna High Court, Bihar in the year 2009.

Was Executive Chairman of Kerala State Legal Service Authority (KELSA) from 2006 to 2009. Served as Chairman of the Indian Law Institute, Kerala from 2007 to 2009 and Chairman of the Advisory Boards constituted under the COFEPOSA Act and National Security Act from 2005 to 2009. Was Chancellor of the National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Cochin as Acting Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court and Chancellor of Chanakya National Law University, Patna till retirement as Chief Justice of the Patna High Court.

On April 2010, appointed as Chairman of the Appellate Tribunal for Forfeited Property under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Act and Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Took additional charge as Chairman of Appellate Tribunal under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act in May 2010. After resigning the post of Chairman, Appellate Tribunal for Forfeited Property, taken charge as Chairperson of Kerala State Human Rights Commission on 05.09.2011.

SRI.R.NATARAJAN, HON’BLE MEMBER, Kerala Sate Human Rights Commission

Former District and Sessions Judge. Native of Alapuzha. Joined Kerala Judicial Service in 1982 and was the Principal District Judge of Kottayam and Palakkad. Served as the Director of Kerala Judicial Academy. Retired as District Judge, Palakkad on March, 2010. Joined as Hon’ble Member of Kerala State Human Rights Commission on July, 2010.

Adv.K.E.Gangadharan, HON’BLE MEMBER, Kerala Sate Human Rights Commission

Criminal Lawyer by profession. Native of Thalassery. Started carrier in the office of Adv.T.Kunjanandan Nair. Served as District Government Pleader and Public Prosecutor from 1997 to 2001 and also worked as Special Public Prosecutor and Standing Counsel of Thalasserry Municipality. He has undergone imprisonment during Emergency. He assumed charge as Member of the Kerala State Human Rights Commission in October 2009.
