GSU College of Law Ranked a Best Value
ATLANTA - Georgia State University College of Law was ranked among the nation's best value schools by The National Jurist in its September issue. The school has been in the top 5 for the last five years.
This year, the college is ranked second behind the University of Alabama School of Law. Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center was ranked third. The top 20 best value schools are all public institutions this year. Overall, only 47 schools made the list in 2012.
"We are proud our students graduate ready to practice law without a crushing amount of debt," Dean Steven J. Kaminshine said. "This best value recognition indicates we are succeeding in our core mission: to provide an outstanding legal education that is accessible and affordable."
To identify the best-value law schools, The National Jurist considered a two-year average for both bar passage rates and percent of students employed after graduation. In-state tuition and average debt at graduation also factored into the rankings. To determine graduation employment, the magazine the American Bar Association's data, which was released for the first time in 2012.
