1903 Marshall relocates to the corner of 21st and Mary Street on Pittsburgh's Southside.
The new factory at the time, was a state-of-art facility that provided Marshall with the space and flexibility needed to manufacture passenger and freight elevators as well as other commercial products.
1903 - 1925 Production of elevators peaked around 1925 having manufactured several thousand units over the previous five decades. Management made a strategic decision not to expand it's installation base outside of a 200 mile radius of Pittsburgh.
1929 - 1941 The Great Depression nearly bankrupted Marshall forcing management to lay off over three quarters of it's employees.
1932 The corporate name is changed from Marshall Brothers Inc. to Marshall Elevator Company.
1942 Marshall is named as a franchisee to distribute and install a new, very efficient hydraulic valve invented and manufactured by the Rotary Lift Company of Memphis, Tennessee. This partnership would effectively end Marshall's need to manufacture pre-packaged passenger elevators.
1945 Marshall assisted in the war effort, manufacturing custom freight elevators with platforms as large as 15' x 45' for some of the region's largest steel mills.
