An idealist during a time of corruption and war in the Republic, Padmé Amidala was determined to fix what wrongs she could in the Senate, where she represented her idyllic home planet of Naboo. Despite her busy career, Padmé found time for a secret, forbidden marriage with Anakin Skywalker, the Jedi hero of the Clone Wars. Though not a soldier, Padmé nonetheless found herself often in the thick of danger as she courageously defended her deepest held beliefs.
Despite her misgivings, Padmé Amidala fell in love with and married Jedi hero, Anakin Skywalker. Because attachment is forbidden by the Jedi Code they were forced to keep their relationship a secret.
When she was 14 years old, Padmé Amidala served as the elected Queen of Naboo, where she guided the planet through a siege and invasion by the Trade Federation. The popular leader served through her term limitations, and later at the behest of the new Queen, served as Senator of Naboo.
When the Republic failed to offer immediate aid to Naboo during the Trade Federation invasion, Queen Amidala followed advice from Senator Palpatine and called for a Vote of No Confidence in Supreme Chancellor Valorum which lead to Palpatine becoming elected as his replacement.
During the Trade Federation's blockade and invasion of Naboo, Nute Gunray attempted to force the Queen, Padmé Amidala, to sign a treaty to make his invasion legal. She refused, and after Amidala successfully took back her planet from Trade Federation rule, Gunray was arrested and put to trial. When the Separatist movement began Nute saw his opportunity to get revenge on Amidala and agreed to join the Separatists with the condition that Amidala was assassinated.
Built from scratch by Anakin Skywalker, the golden protocol droid, C-3PO, became more the property of Padmé Amidala during the Clone Wars since as a Senator she had more need for a reliable translator than her Jedi husband did.
