The BMW M5 Ring-Taxi in detail
The newly developed 4.4-litre V8 engine from the people at BMW M provides the necessary firepower. Thanks to the M TwinPower Turbo technology, this high-power engine generates up to 560 hp – and with simultaneous power delivery and that thrust you have come to expect from M vehicles. From 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds, the acceleration only stops when you get to 305 km/h with the M Driver's Package.
All the components on the BMW M5 are perfectly aligned, whether the drive train, chassis, aerodynamics or weight balance. The cumulative power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a seven-speed M double clutch transmission with Drivelogic. For the first time, two individually configurable set-ups can be triggered via the M Drive button on the steering wheel. Parameters like engine response, M Servotronic steering, the Drivelogic transmission programme, M Dynamic mode, dynamic suspension control and the head-up display can be programmed precisely.
The BMW M5 is also visually superior: the characteristic bodywork and typical M appearance reflect the highly-dynamic and precisely controllable driving characteristics. With large air inlets on the front spoiler, athletic-looking wheel arches, M gill elements with integrated indicator columns, Gurney-style rear spoiler, and many other components derived from motor racing, the BMW M5 makes no secret of its dynamics. In doing so, it posts an impressive argument for why it is your perfect partner for a drive on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife.
Nürburgring-Nordschleife.
It doesn't get any tougher: Up and down for more than 20 kilometres.
