'Tomb Raider' multiplayer preview development diary released - watch

Tomb Raider has been given a new multiplayer video by Crystal Dynamics.

Presented by Zachary Levi, the behind-the-scenes video explores the game's recently announced multiplayer mode, and features testimony from the team at Eidos-Montréal.

Members of the development team discuss how the multiplayer mode was shaped by the concept of survival, before exploring some of the traps and weapons available on the island.

The video also features a demonstration of the deathmatch mode, which features Zachary Levi as a playable character.

Tomb Raider is a reboot of the classic series, where Lara Croft finds herself shipwrecked on a hostile island in a story that shapes her into the heroine seen in the original games.

Developer Crystal Dynamics confirmed earlier this year that the Tomb Raider reboot is not just a single game, hinting at future titles in the series.
Scribe Rhianna Pratchett, the lead writer on the game, has said that she wants to bring a "depth and credibility to Lara".

The game will also have timed DLC that will be set after the events of the main campaign.

Tomb Raider will be available on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC worldwide from March 5.
