Matt Zapotosky covers law enforcement in Prince George’s County. In about two years on the job, he has broken stories about a cheating scandal in the police academy and a narcotics detective selling guns on the street. Most recently, he chronicled the human toll of an inexplicable spate of murders, and he explored the inner workings of an auto theft ring that was shipping stolen cars to Africa. Before coming to Prince George’s, Zapotosky worked in The Post’s Southern Maryland Bureau, where he was most well known for his reporting on a Calvert County woman who killed her two children and stored their bodies in a freezer. Zapotosky is a graduate of Ohio University and resident of Northwest D.C.
