Xbox 720 specs rumored to consist of eight-core CPU, 8GB RAM, and 8880 GPU (Photos)

With the impending announcement of next generation systems from Microsoft and Sony, we have received a number of rumors that involve the hardware that may be implemented with these systems. Yesterday, a new post on the popular video game forum NeoGAF that reveals rumored specifications for the Xbox 720.

As can be seen on this forum post, it is revealed that the Xbox 720 will be comprised of an eight-core CPU. In addition to this, it is stated that the system will have a total of 8GB of RAM. Through the release of the Xbox 360 and PS3, many developers have complained that the most limiting factor in these systems is the amount of RAM that was supplied. If these rumors are in fact true for the Xbox 720, 8 GB of RAM should be plenty of memory to meet our next generation needs.

Additionally, it is stated that this system will run on a 8880 series graphics processor. The system will also run on a Windows 8 kernel and be supplied with a 640 GB hard drive.

As with anything of this nature, fans should take this information with a grain of salt until it is confirmed by a valid source. We have also listed a few concept photos of the Xbox 720 in the slide-show above for those of you that may be interested.
