Dorel Industries Inc. (TSX: DII.B, DII.A) is a world class juvenile products and bicycle company. The Company's lifestyle leadership position is pronounced in both its Juvenile and Bicycle categories with an array of trend-setting products. Dorel's powerfully branded products include Safety 1st, Quinny, Cosco, Maxi-Cosi and Bébé Confort in Juvenile, as well as Cannondale, Schwinn, GT, Mongoose, IronHorse and SUGOI in Recreational/Leisure. Dorel's Home Furnishings segment markets a wide assortment of both domestically produced and imported furniture products, principally within North America. Dorel has annual sales of US$2.4 billion and employs 5,000 people in facilities located in twenty-two countries worldwide.

US operations include Dorel Juvenile Group USA; the Cycling Sports Group; Pacific Cycle; Ameriwood Industries which produces ready-to-assemble furniture; Altra Furniture; and Cosco Home & Office. In Canada, Dorel operates Dorel Distribution Canada, Dorel Home Products and SUGOI. Abroad, operations include Dorel Europe and IGC in Australia, a manufacturer and distributor of juvenile products. Dorel Asia sources and imports home furnishings products. Dorel China has eight offices which oversee the sourcing, engineering and logistics of the Company’s Asian supplier chain.

Three distinct segments. One underlying commitment

Dorel's strength lies in the diversity,innovation and quality of its products as well as the superiority of its brands. Each segment consists of several operating divisions or subsidiaries. Dorel's Juvenile segment offers well-known brands in infant car seats, strollers, high chairs, toddler beds, cribs, infant health and safety aids, feeding aids, play-yards and juvenile accessories. Dorel's Recreational/Leisure segment markets its products under premium brand names in high-performance and popular bicycles and other recreational products. Its two distinct divisions, the Cycling Sports Group and Pacific Cycle, focus separately on the Independent Bicycle Dealer (IBD) and mass merchant channels. The Home Furnishings segment specializes in a wide variety of ready-to-assemble (RTA) furniture for home and office use as well as metal folding furniture, futons, step stools, ladders and a vast array of imported furniture items.

While separate management teams operate each business segment independently, Dorel maximizes cross-selling, cross-marketing, procurement and other complementary business opportunities. For example, the Company achieves many synergies through its Dorel China office, which provides support to all Dorel segments. Among the many services to Dorel’s divisions and its customers, Dorel China provides quality assurance, supply certification, sourcing of materials and freight forwarding.

Worldwide presence

Dorel has established strong distribution channels, from the world's largest mass merchants to specialty and independent stores. Dorel's initial public offering was in July 1987 ($5.00 per share - pre 2-1 stock split).
