explain it to a duck

I have to give a HUGE thanks to the nice people at the Clear Eyes, Full Shelves blog. One of their reviewers (and one of my favorite substitute teachers) brought my class a great stack of books (and a few from our classroom wish list). So, not only does that blog have an awesome title (a great Friday Night Lights reference) and premise (they use a ranking system for books based around Friday Night Lights characters), but the people that run it also happen to be awesome. Thanks!

high school advice

This is amazing. Seriously, amazing. I can’t believe how many books have shown up from our classroom wish list. A huge thank you to all those who got us a book.

As I’ve said before, my students are so incredibly fortunate. Again and again, I am so impressed and grateful that people I’ve never met are buying books for our classroom. It has been awesome to walk around the room and see students absorbed in great books that you got for them.

Jennifer Savage-Wright, thank you.

Emily Rich, thank you.

Ryan & Amy Hammock, thank you.

Adam Beard, thank you.

To the Knights of Rhetoric at Flagler College, wow and thank you.

To those people who sent us a book that showed up without a piece of paper saying who you are: thank you, and please say something soon, so we can thank you.

[This one is from a huge set of prompts that I’m hoping to get up on Teachers Pay Teachers in the next few days.]
