Capital Weather Gang Archive: Posegate

2010 in Pictures: Your Weather Photos Revealed

The results are in. We received nearly 50 submissions of 2010 weather images from our readers -- pictures of looming clouds, breathtaking sunsets, mounds of snow, moonlit nights and more. Together they illustrated our incredible year of weather. Without further adieu, here are Capital Weather Gang's top five favorites from each of the two categories - "Snowmageddon" and "Other Weather" - described in our December call for photos.

And the awards for 'Best Snow Comments' go to...

For the past few years, I've compiled the 'best of' comments from the first major snowstorms of the season for the D.C. area. Every year, the range of emotions exhibited here on Capital Weather Gang never cease to amaze me. Here's a sampling of your snow comments that stood out during this winter's first major snowstorm.

Year in pictures: Submit your 2010 weather photos

It's that time of year again to showcase this year's weather in photos! There are two categories: Snowmageddon and Other Weather. Each person may submit no more than one relevant photo to each category (for a total of two possible per person). Email your submissions to weathergang@wpni.com. We'll pick our favorites to post right here on the Weather Gang blog.

Eaten by Aedes: The buzz on summer mosquitoes

Let's face it. Mosquitoes in the DC area have been voracious this summer. Their prolific populations have left us grabbing for the nearest can of DEET. Is it the heat? Severe thunderstorms? Drought? How have we coped ...or have we?

What do you like about summer heat?

The D.C. area has already experienced its fair share of summer conditions ... and it's only the first week of July. We've heard -- and said -- plenty of complaints about the heat and humidity: sweaty work clothes, lack of energy, moldy basements. Yet, some residents actually seem to like the heat. Are you one of them?
