Mercury One Charity Raises More Than $100K (and Nearly $80k in a Few Hours) in Honor of Chris Kyle and Chad Littlefield
On Monday, Glenn Beck’s charitable organization, Mercury One, began taking donations for those wishing to honor Navy SEAL Chris Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield, who police say were killed by Marine reservist Eddie Routh on Saturday while at a Texas shooting range.
During Beck’s radio show Tuesday morning, about $40,000 had been raised, but within just a couple hours of the show ending that total jumped to more than $100,000.
“We are grateful to help play a very small role in this effort,” Mercury One President Joe Kerry said in an email to TheBlaze. “The individuals donating are the ones making a difference. They are the heroes.”
By 2 p.m. EST nearly 2,000 donations on Mercury One for Chris Kyle and his foundation FITCO Cares totaled more $118, 890. The top anonymous donor sent in $5,000.
The spike in donations, Kerry said, was thanks to Beck reaching out to his audience on the radio Tuesday.
“Glenn’s passion and emotion came straight from his heart and his audience responded,” Kerry said, noting that 100 percent of all monies donated to this effort will be passed along. “Nothing is going to administrative or overhead.”
Due to the generosity of donors, the initial goal set by Mercury One was raised to $500,000.
“Our goal was $50,000. And that was because Mercury One was making a donation of $25k to the Chris Kyle Memorial Fund and$25k to the family of Chad Littlefield,” Kerry said. “These donations are in addition to the $50k we thought we would raise. Our goal was to raise $50k and donate $50k directly from Mercury One. We’re well beyond that now.”
The fundraising effort with a new goal of $500,000 will continue until Monday, Feb. 11.
If you would like to donate, visit Mercury One here.
Update: By 8 a.m. EST Wednesday, Mercury One was 43 percent of its goal, raising $216,542 from more than 3,000 donors.

Posted on February 5, 2013 at 5:39pmAs always I donated. But I must say this I hope it goes to the family. I donated money in the very beginning to Mercury One for Israel, Education and other things – I have no idea where that went. I donated again for Hurricane Sandy – thinking we would all go and help, I have no idea what happened to that money. I would love to keep donating and would love to donate to the new Veterans fund. I went to Texas, I was so excited to actually help someone who really needed. There was lots of people with not too much to do. See I live in NY, we don’t really have “poor” people unless you want to call me, the working middle class poor. The non working class is much better off than me. Not a care in the world, no taxes, no medical, no mortgage, no food bill or clothing bill to worry about see I and my hard working friends pay for it all and donate to charity on top of it. But we are getting worn thin. Nobody wants to show us where our money goes. So please show me where this money has gone. Where did the Sandy money go? Where did the initial Mercury One go?

Understand, by giving you did your duty and God knows. If Glenn does anything with that money other than what he said he would do with it, then he will be held accountable by God. Dont worry – you did your duty.
When I give to the Church or any charity, I have done my duty according to God’s word. I don’t have to ask if the Church has done it’s duty – that is up to God to determined. It is called accountability! That is something that is missing in our society. People are unaware that one day they will be held in account for every word and deed they have done in their life.
Give Joyously!

Posted on February 7, 2013 at 10:03amI’m of the understandng that the family and the police know about this. They made a statement saying they have asked them to remain silent on the topic until after the funerals. Perhaps they dont want this murderer to get more media attention then our American Hero. Media tends to focus on the killers and not the victims. Hopefully the media honors the families wish. RIP Chief

Posted on February 5, 2013 at 3:37pmR.I.P. Chris Kyle and Chad Littlefield. You were honorable men murdered in cold blood by an evil man.
Looks likely that what the MSM has given us about the murderer is not the true story.

As far as Ron Paul’s tweet — it was just that. A Biblical “haiku” if you would and while ture it in no way means Paul is heartless or unfeeling. A “bladder-ass” move, perhaps, one that he later “clarified”. I certainly give him the benefit of the doubt given his otherwise stellar history, everyone says dumb things sometimes.

Posted on February 5, 2013 at 3:22pmFormer U.S. Army Ranger Sean Parnell addressed the concept of gun range therapy for veterans with PTSD, on Fox and Friends:

“A lot of people are asking why are you taking somebody that’s struggling out to go shooting. Well shooting for guys like us in the military is a very, very familiar skill set. It’s like taking a basketball player out to shoot hoops, you know. And so, shooting with military veterans that are trying to re-adjust can be very healing, and Chris [Kyle] really used that well to his advantage to help people.”

Posted on February 5, 2013 at 3:30pmHahahaha. Oh you were serious. Because i seem to remember the comments on here about Sandy relief. No one wanted to help innocent families whose lives were destroyed and lost everything. But a guy gets shot by a nutjob and everyone is happy to help. Must be nice to be a former killer.
Hey Glenn. Show us how much of this money went to where it was supposed to.

Posted on February 5, 2013 at 2:45pmOr, if you want to do something to honor Chris Kyle and Chad Littlefield without patronizing Glenn Beck’s azzhattery and malicious attack on Ron Paul donate here directly to Fitco Cares: http://fitcocares.org/
Donations with the notation “CK” to the Red Circle Foundation will also directly benefit Chris Kyle’s family: http://redcirclefoundation.org/

Posted on February 5, 2013 at 3:55pm@MRJA, what is low and why am I a Paulbot? I’ve voiced my disapproval of the fmr. Rep Paul’s initial tweet. I don’t believe in maliciously attacking others the way you and Beck do.
Does the money not go exactly to the same place but without rewarding Glenn Beck for his unChristian personal attacks on Fmr. Rep. Ron Paul? Or is bearing false witness and name calling the character traits you choose to teach your children too?
I’ve been a long time subscriber of Beck’s and I made my donation through Mercury One yesterday. Had I known of the malicious actions Beck were going to deliver this morning I would have gone directly through Kyle’s own foundation, Fitco Cares http://fitcocares.org/ , or that of his very good friend and fellow veteran Brandon Webb at the Red Circle Foundation: http://redcirclefoundation.org/
Frankly the personal attacks from all involved are disgusting and do nothing to honor our veterans or the legacy of Chris Kyle and his attempt to help his bretheran suffering with PTSD.

Posted on February 5, 2013 at 4:25pmThis article had nothing to do with Ron Paul or Becks response to Ron Paul. It was about the generosity of others, a lot of money was raised for this hero. The Beck ‘azzhattery’ comment would have better served in the “Hear Becks scathing Ron Paul….” article. BTW, pleasure to me you,BonnieBlue
