The Ultimate Fighting Championship have added a new face to its featherweight roster as it has signed Cage Warriors featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor.

Irishman McGregor (12-2-0) has been regarded as one of Europe’s hottest prospects for a number of years now. He has fought his most recent bouts in the Cage Warriors promotion and recently won the featherweight title, then the lightweight title in back-to-back bouts.

A product of SBG Ireland under John Kavanagh, McGregor always wows crowds with his superb skills. His boxing is possibly the best in the division in the entire continent and the power he packs in his punches is devastating. He is also a highly skilled grappler as he showed en route to winning his featherweight title.

Following his most recent bout, which saw him knockout Ivan Buchinger to win the lightweight title, he received a tweet from UFC announcer Joe Rogan who praised him on his performance and said he hoped to see him in the UFC one day.

In his first bout in the promotion, McGregor will take on TUF 14’s Marcus Brimage at UFC on Fuel TV 9.

Since coming to the UFC following his time on the show, Marcus Brimage (6-1-0) is undefeated in the promotion after three fights. Brimage has a good skill set which is constantly improving and most recently handed top prospect Jim Hettes his first professional loss back in September.

UFC on Fuel TV 9 takes place 6th April from the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden and is set to be main evented by a light heavyweight fight between Alexander Gustafsson and Gegard Mousassi.
