2012 is complete - stay tuned for 2013 projects!

Thank you to each and every volunteer that pitched in during 2012. It was our first CDT Montana season and you helped to make it a success!

In fact, we are already planning our 2013 project schedule. If you want to be the first to know (and get first dibs on the best projects) then be sure to donate! All 2012 volunteers and donors will get a special VIP notice when our 2013 schedule is ready to post. Your contribution this year directly supports our work for next year. Thank you for giving as generously as you can.

BIG NEWS

The Montana Wilderness Association has some very exciting news to share. This year (2012), we’ll be taking on a stronger role in the care and preservation of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail (CDNST) – the longest mountain trail in Montana.  We know you’ll agree that this trail is not only the backbone to the Rocky Mountains, the starting point for our watersheds, a travel corridor for wildlife; but also a special way for all to enjoy Montana’s wild beauty and grandeur. On top of the world!

tHE IMPORTANCE OF THE CDT TO YOU AND MWA

MWA has already invested great efforts in the CDNST over the years, through our Quiet Trails Program and Montana  High Divide Trail  Partnership. These efforts have built local partnerships and contributed to trail building and stewardship from Glacier to Yellowstone National Parks.

When our former partner, the Continental Divide Trail Alliance (CDTA), suddenly closed  its doors in January 2012 no one was left looking after this treasure. By taking an even stronger role MWA hopes to be a new, more powerful advocate for the Continental Divide Trail; linking Montana’s beautiful wild places together.
