Registration for Site Access

Questions Regarding Guests & Visitors Attending an Event at Brookhaven
Questions regarding guests visiting and conducting research at the Laboratory should be directed to the Guest, User, Visitor (GUV) Center at 631-344-3333 or guvcenter@bnl.gov.  Location:  Research Support Building (Building 400). 

Main Gate Access
Access to BNL is controlled by permitting entrance only to those persons who have official business at the Lab or those visitors who are properly sponsored by a BNL employee. All visitors to the Laboratory age 16 and over must bring a photo ID.

  ID Requirements for Guests & Visitors
Important information regarding the various types of identification necessary for U.S. citizens, foreign nationals, and Visa Waiver Program participants to enter the site.

Guest Registration
Those visiting BNL must enter their information into the guest registration system in order to obtain a BNL Guest (photo ID) badge.

Housing Registration
Available for both short-term or long-term on-site stays. For questions regarding on-site housing registration requirements for Non-BNL/DOE and Non-U.S. Citizen attendees, please contact the Housing Office.

Training and Qualifications

The purpose of the Training and Qualifications program at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) is to ensure that BNL employees, guests, users, and contractors are trained and qualified to perform their assigned tasks and job functions. View Program

Computer Network Access

Visitors with temporary BNL (NON-photo-ID) passes:
(ie, vendors, conferences or special event attendees) These individuals have the following network option available to them:

Internet Access Only (Available from most conference rooms on-site)
Quick Steps for Internet Access:

  • Configure your client for DHCP
  • Set DNS server to be obtained automatically
