Optional Room Furnishings & Services

The following items and services are available to students for additional fees.

Microfridge: The MicroFridge is a combination refrigerator/freezer and microwave oven that was designed for today's serious, self-reliant and budget-conscious student. It is the ultimate convenience item for a residence hall room that not only saves space but money too. If ordered, we can generally place it in the student's room before they arrive thus saving space and hassle when moving to campus. The unit can be ordered for $130 per year. Call 309-298-3321 for more information.

Linens Mattresses in our residence halls are extra-long (36"x80"). The Inter-hall Council, our student governing group, has partnered with Residence Hall Linens to provide our students with a convenient, affordable way to purchase extra-long necessities. Proceeds from this program go to IHC and are used for programming the residence halls. Please visit www.rhl.org/wiu for more information and ordering.

Lofts & Futons  We contract with Bedloft.com, a loft company, to offer a loft rental program. Bedloft.com offers metal lofts with guard rails. Rental information will be sent to the students in a summer mailing or you can visit www.bedloft.com to rent your loft. These lofts are placed in the student's room before they arrive. The student will be responsible for dismantling the loft before finals week in the spring semester and returning it to a centralized place near their Residence Hall.  (If you decide to construct your own loft, please keep in mind that lofts are required to be free standing and not attached to any wall, ceiling or another piece of furniture and must be fire resistant. Storage of bed frames is limited and on a first come, first served basis. We do not store mattresses. No lofts are allowed in Bayliss Hall, Henninger Hall, International House, Lincoln Hall, Washington Hall, Olson Hall, Caroline Grote and Corbin Hall. These halls have stackable furniture that already lofts. We do not store beds or other furniture in these halls.

Welcome Mats: These unique welcome mats are the perfect way to show your school spirit. They are a great addition to any residence hall room. For more information about the welcome mats, visit CampusMats.com.
