Tramcar 26T

« previous next »

Škoda Transportation manufactured a 100% low-floor tram-way for Hungarian city Miskolc. The vehicle follows series of bi-directional vehicles favored by passengers in Cagliari, Portland or Wroclaw. A five-section fully low-floor tram Škoda 26 T meets the latest European safety standards, which ensure that passengers and drivers are safer in case of a collision.
Easily accessible electrical equipment is located on the roof of the vehicle.

New tram Škoda 26T can use braking energy for recuperation and return unutilized power back to the network. Together with asynchronous traction motors are thus costs of operation and maintenance significantly reduced. Tram Škoda 26 T has a wider body than previous types and can offer space for more than 300 passengers. Fully low-floor entrance height just 330 mm above the top of rail allows easy boarding and exit. Platforms by the door offer plenty of space for bicycles, prams and people with reduced mobility. Advanced information system and air conditioning also contributes to passenger comfort.
