The State Archives is located in the Kansas Historical Society's complex on the west edge of Topeka. Surrounded by 81 acres of Kansas grasses and woodlands, the beautiful complex setting is both contemporary and historic. This is the perfect place for your memorable occasions—meetings, receptions, and special events.

Our staff members are experienced with numerous types of events and can offer suggestions about location and amenities. Many of our event spaces are available day or night. You may select the caterer and beverage service provider of your choice.

South classroom, State Archives & Library

Dramatic clerestory windows dominate the elegant foyer of the State Archives. Opened in 1995, the building's two-story lobby features soaring ceilings, open wooden trusses, and native limestone flooring. The lobby can accommodate approximately 100 guests for a stand-up reception for 50 guests for seated dining.
