4. Since 2004, the total fertility rate (TFR) is calculated for individual years. Previously, the TFR was calculated for age groups of 5 years.
5. From 1 May 2009 onwards including same-sex marriages and partnerships switched to marriages.
6. From 1 May 2009 onwards including divorces between persons in same-sex marriages.
7. Number of partners who registered partnership. From 1 May 2009 onwards it is not possible to register partnership in Sweden.
8. Number of partners who deregistered their partnership.
In Sweden there are 1,427,000 people who are foreign-born yet merely 655,000 are foreign citizens.
Definitions
The total fertility rate (TFR) is the average number of children a women would have if current fertility rates remained constant.
