At first, I was happy with my Pebble. But since last weekend, it seems that it has a battery-issue..
I charged it last friday over night but the battery was empty on saturday at lunchtime (probably 5h after disconnecting it from the power cord)
I charged it again over night from saturday to sunday and now, monday 11a.m. it's empty again. WTH?
I use a watchface with only hours/minutes, so no heavy battery-draining watchface. Not happy at all, since I only have one charging cable and I handle it like a holy grail, leaving it at home.

Luckily I have heard that pebble is replacing the bricked pebbles and finding out why they are doing it but make sure if you have yours and are updated to 1.9 you DO NOT TURN IT OFF!

my pebble worked for a week. Did a reboot and then turned it off over night. Went to turn it on overnight and got nothing. I have tried everything I could to turn it on and right now its dead. I dont know whats wrong or what to do. I emailed pebble support about it so i will see what they do. Pretty pissed and upset right now.

@Francisco gallego - thanks for the article, it's good to know it's just the vocal minority that have the bricking issue. 20-30 reported cases out of 30k+ watches is a decent hit rate for something that isn't even a retail product yet.

I backed this project on May 18, 2012. I ordered the black pebble. I have as yet to see it. Sent a message asking what's going on with the delivery. Got no reply. Not exactly the type of response I should get from a new startup that I backed.

I backed this project many months ago.

Now, just after 7 days since I received my Pebble, I think it was worth waiting so long.
I know - there are other competitors coming with their watches...
They have budgets and they did not start from scratch.
Personally I am happy to see how such idea became real and I keep working Pebble on my wrist.

I am aware of all its limitations (no SDK, weak support from applications on my phone, workarounds we have to apply etc. etc.) but this is what I expected when I paid my money for virtual product.

So please give them a chance - Pebble Team has deserved it :)

You may wish to call it 'good karma' :) - my Pebble is working fine so far...

- 6 days on single charge (up to 20 notifications per day, two alarms every day, few calls), backlight is on all the time, watchface: TicTacToe
- sometimes I see some 'oil' marks on the screen but they are gone in few minutes
- shutdown did not cause brick
- BT connection sometimes drops off but I did not find any patterns for this

DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR PEBBLES THEY WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON THEY ARE BRICKING. my pebble watch would not turn on after i turn it off no matter how long i charged it. people are reporting the same issue via twitter #pebble.

Kabir, I heartily agree with you, except for what I expect is an overly optimistic assessment for the delivery of the coloured ones.

Remember, it took them about a month (after the date they were meant to start shipping) to even work out how to make the red one. They've posted no information on any of the other colours and, just because they've started making red ones, doesn't mean those lessons can be applied to the other colours; the different plastics will need to be cooked in slightly different ways to make sure that the watches fit together properly.

Thus, they'll have to go through the same exercise with each colour to work out how to make it. My guess is that we're months or more away from any of the other colours. As for the red ones, some two months after they started (what they laughingly call) mass-production, there are no reports of anyone having received one.

What's even more worrying is the high incidence of people reporting technical problems with the watch, coupled with Pebble's apparent inability to deal with them responsibly. Certainly, there are people out there who have them, love them, and can't understand what all the fuss is about, but the sad truth seems to be that Pebble's quality control is sub-par. The question at the end of all of this is whether it wouldn't just be easier to put the thing up on eBay (if it ever arrives) and wait for someone who knows what they're doing to make a proper smart watch.

It's now nearing April, back in November when I pointed out that pebble might be this late, pebble fan boys wanted to crucify me.

And now Engadget is reporting that some backers are having issues with their watches bricking.

Coloured watches are just going to production now so maybe until May.

And now rumors suggest that apple, Samsung, google, LG are all working on smart watches.

It seems that before Eric and company even make a commercial entry into the tech world they will have stiff competition. So now all those fan boys who kept on supporting and pelleting the people who complained, you encouraged all these delays and helped Eric and his company downfall.

So lets just hope Eric and delivery his backers what he promised the coloured watches, I have a feeling after one year apple will make the pebble look like a real pebble in comparison

@Deni Tako How do you know it was delivered? The pebble system only track shipped (not delivery). If you are referring to the tracking code saying it was delivered, then you need to contact your local shipping company.

I don't know if I'm the only person with this problem or not, but my Pebble shows that it was shipped and delivered, and yet I have no Pebble! I emailed them several days ago to ask for help on how to proceed, but there is no response whatsoever from them to date.

It seems like they are somewhat discouraging people from trying to get in touch with them, since most of the support items refer only to their FAQ or the forums for assistance, and even the Contact Us refers people to the FAQ's. When I sent the email, it even tried to discourage me from doing so by referring me AGAIN to the FAQ's before sending the email, which eventually it did say went through, but no response after 4 days - not even a "got your email, we'll get to you eventually" canned response.

Does anyone know a better way to reach them that may actually get a response?

I have used my pebble for 4 days and have loved it until it has broken on me. THe top two buttons refuse to respond and the watch is now useless. Is there any way i can get a new pebble? i only waited 8 months now for it to break in 4 days and would not like to wait another 8

Just a warning from a pebble owner. After the last firmware update (1.9) if you use the shutdown option from the menu it turns your watch into a brick. You will not be able to turn it back on. Now my watch is completely unresponsive. I am not alone as there is a group of people on the forum who have also experienced this.
