Report by Orissa Diary correspondent; Bhubaneswar: The State's 100-mtr women hurdler Anuradha Biswal has been selected to represent the country for forthcoming Commonwealth Games-2010 in athletics. Including Biswal ten sportspersons from Odisha would be representing India in the 19th Commonwealth Games beginning in Delhi on October 3, Odisha Olympic Association (OOA) informed on Wednesday. Apart from the sportspersons, 12 officials from the State would be doing duty in different capacities.
Though Biswal got selected but it is only the participating number, if she get a chance to perform in the track the medal hopes are negligible, because she barely get two weeks, said a veteran athlete.
Sportspersons: Jauna Murmu, Srabani Nanda (both athletics); Prabodha Tirkey (men's hockey); Rakesh Kumar Patra (gymnastic); Binita Toppo, Subhadra Pradhan, Muktaprava Barla (all women's hockey); K Rabi Kumar (weightlifting) and Bikasha Jena (Rugby).
