Hi all...

I'm a 35 year old male living in Louisville, Kentucky USA, home of the
Kentucky Derby and Maker's Mark bourbon (nothing like exporting gambling
and booze to generate a reputation for your city ;)

I've been involved professionally in the Internet since 1988 and have had
the fun of watching the Internet grow up (and yes Adam, I was even a
subscriber to the cyber-sleaze mailing list -- remember the day's of
OnRamp.com and even hosted thesleaze.com for a bit a couple of years back ;)
I've had a long love of online audio and video distribution and have fiddled
that since about '95 with the intro of the original version of RealAudio,
Cu-SeeMe, and various other aps whose names now escape me.

Some ipodder related projects include..hosting a local online talk show
back in 97. Starting a small webcasting company in 98. One of our concepts
we were developing there was something we called "Flat Radio" which was
essentially what ipodder is, except it involved the mailing of CD's to
folks. (Yeah I know, but that was in the pre-DSL and cable modem days).
I wanted something like "Flat Radio" for another project that I had
just completed, which was the building of a linux-based mp3 system
in the trunk of my car. I wrote a nice suite of aps to manage the
audio content on it all called T.R.A.F.Y.C J.A.M. (The Radio Alternative
For Your Car, Just add MP3's). We thought it would only be a matter
of time before MP3 players would be standard in cars and folks would need
content to listen to. Alas, my day job got in the way of all that fun and
it never really got off the ground.

My day job...I was co-founder of one of the mid-west's first ISPs,
iglou.com and just left that job after about a 17 year run. Now I've
got plenty of free time to work on cool stuff like the ipodder project.

I've also been mucking with rss+bit torrent and have been putting together
some MythTV boxes to play with some of the same ipodder concepts except
with video. There I'm interested in making an intuitive way for MythTV's
I've built for friends to interact with mine and share/recommend content
all around.

I'm a reasonably competent perl programmer, and have a ton of ideas I hope
to contribute to the ipodder project.
