Two patients murdered at Bu Sleem hospital

Tripoli, 6 April 2013:

Gunmen stormed Tripoli’s Bu Sleem Hospital of Friday afternoon and murdered two patients in what is being seen as a revenge attack.

According to hospital sources, the two were in the hospital’s recovery unit. They had been injured in earlier fighting in which a young man had been killed and were being held under arrest in the hospital.

Those who managed to get into the recovery unit and shoot them are reported to be family and friends of the dead man.

Sources said that staff and patients alike were terrified by the attack and that following the killing a number of staff quit the hospital.
