Who Am I?

I am a 30-something aspiring SF & F writer when all my time isn't chewed up by my day job as a software quality analyst. I also have narcolepsy and clinical depression to deal with.

I came to the USA in late 2002, and lived in the Houston area with my husband and our two cats until June of 2005, when we uprooted and moved to the southeast of Pennsylvania. Winter, with snow, is an adventure we are finding somewhat... interesting. Especially me - I am a shameless tropical brat. I spent from 1980 until 2002 in a climate where no temperature below freezing point had ever been recorded. It's safe to say I'm going to need a lot of time to get used to the weather here.

I periodically blog at Kate's Korner, and I've taken on the Web Goddess role for Critical Evolutions, a new online SF & F Critique group.

My first professional short story "A Change of Heart", co-authored with Sarah Hoyt, is in the Crossroads Valdemar anthology, available now. Another of my short stories, "Destiny's Choice" is available in the Dragon's Tooth eBooks Illuminated Manuscripts anthology.

I have several novels in various stages of disarray, and hope to sell at least one of them in the next year.
