Synopsis

In the southern Indian state of Kerala, Abu discovers his working life is coming to an end. The traditional perfumes he sells are no longer popular. Alone with his wife in their small country house, Abu decides to fulfill their life long dream of making a religious pilgrimage to Mecca. When he goes to consult with a local travel agent, Abu discovers he is hopelessly out of touch with the modern world - he and his wife do not have passports and the travel costs are enormous. While their friends offer their support, in accordance with tradition, Abu must find his own way.

About the Director

Salim Ahamed, born on 1st of October 1970 is a graduate in Commerce and a diploma holder in Travel and Tourism. He started his working life in the Airline and Travel Industry. His passion for creative field made him join the School of Drama in Trichur, Kerala. He had a ten-year stint as a Creative Director and Script Writer with a TV Channel in Kerala. His first step into films was an Assistant Director with Mr. G. S. Vijayan for a Malayalam movie "Saphalyam."
 
"Adaminte Makan Abu" is the Malayalam title for "Abu, Son of Adam" and this is his debut film, which he scripted and also produced.
