Shri Pawan Kumar Bansal, Hon'ble Minister for Railways flags off First EMU service in the section

Shri Pawan Kumar Bansal, Hon'ble Minister of Railways flagged off First EMU service in Dahanu Road-Churchgate section at a function held at Dahanu Road Railway station o­n Tuesday, 16th April, 2013. Shri Prithviraj Chavan, Hon'ble Chief Minister, Govt. of Maharashtrawas the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries were also present o­n this occasion.

Shri Mahesh Kumar, General Manager, Western Railway welcomed the honourable guests in the beginning. Shri Ganesh R. Naik, Hon'ble Minister for Non-Conventional Energy & State Excise, Govt. of Maharashtra; Shri Rajendra D. Gavit, Hon'ble Minister of State for Tribal Development, Labour, Command Area Development and Horticulture, Govt. of Maharashtra; Shri Baliram S. Jadhav, Hon'ble MP; Shri Rajaram Ozare, Hon'ble MLA; Shri Vinay Mittal, Chairman, Railway Board; Shri Subodh Jain, Member Engineering; Shri Kulbhushan, Member Electrical and Shri K.K. Shrivastava, Member Traffic and Senior Railway Officers were present in the function.

15 new EMU trains have been introduced in Churchgate-Dahanu Road Section.2 shuttle trains running between Dahanu Road and Borivali have been replaced by EMU and extended upto Churchgate. 2 EMU services running between Dadar and Virar have been extended till Dahanu Road and 1 EMU services running between Churchgate and Virar has also been extended to Dahanu Road. Apart from above, 4 MEMU services which were running between Dahanu Road and Virar have been extended upto Dadar. The regular run of newly introduced EMU services will commence from 17/04/2013.
