Denning (Liyu) Jin specializes in patent litigation, commercial litigation and international arbitration.

Mr. Jin has over 17 years of experience in commercial litigation and arbitration in China. He has rich experience in patent litigation and invalidation proceedings in the mechanical, automotive, electrical, pharmaceutical and chemical areas. He also litigates on the protection of trademarks, copyright and trade secrets, as well as on generic commercial cases. He is familiar with international business transactions including foreign direct investment, mergers and acquisitions, PE investment, international trade, international licensing, etc..  He practices international commercial arbitration before China International Economic & Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), ICC International Court of Arbitration, and Hong Kong International Arbitration Center (HKIAC). He is experienced in dispute settlement in insurance-related claims, and excels in representing our clients when facing cases brought by a massive group of parties involving product liability, professional malpractice liability, property loss, and bodily injuries. Denning also advises on issues under Chinese competition and antimonopoly law, criminal law and administrative law.

Work Experience

Mr. Jin joined King & Wood in 1996. He chairs the dispute resolution practice in King & Wood Shanghai office.

He is a CIETAC arbitrator, a member of the 9th Council of Shanghai Bar Association, and also a people’s representative of the 14th People’s Congress of Changning District, Shanghai Municipality.

He obtained his LL.B from East China University of Political Science and Law in 1993, and later he obtained his LL.M degrees respectively from Georgetown University Law Center and University of International Business and Economics. He was admitted to the Chinese bar.
