  • Summary: When a disaster of epic proportions strikes Shanghai, China, Rios and Salem find themselves right in the middle of it all - the wrong place, the wrong time, but the right team. A carefully orchestrated series of mysterious catastrophes is dragging Shanghai to the brink of ruin, and now the Army of Two must fight their way through ravaged city districts as they try to beat the odds and uncover the secret of the 40th Day. ARMY OF TWO: THE 40th DAY features a bigger playbook of new co-op moves that either player can use at any time, opening up new strategies and countless choices for both players. The result is a bigger, better, more organic and immersive co-op experience that lets gamers put their best two-man tactics to use whenever and wherever they want. [Electronic Arts] Expand

  1. A surprisingly good story leads you through a hell of an experience starring Shanghai as a metropolis of war and corruption. Don‘t hesitate if you‘re looking for a good arcade-like shooter game you can enjoy with a buddyl - but the single players should better be warned: The AI sucks: Sometimes.
  2. Fast action and story, a easy to play shoot-em-up.

Army of Two: The 40th Day is a fine game on the PlayStation 3, but on the PlayStation Portable it is poor. The biggest problem is the linear gameplay and the bad level design. Graphics and audio are pretty good, but the gameplay isn’t and that’s a shame [ipv sad].
  4. All the charisma of the protagonists is not enough to make up for the lack of substance. The gameplay tactics are primitive, and there is no feeling of fellowship that made Army of Two so fun to play.

  2. I think many people compare this game to the Xbox/PS3 version. It is a psp, it doesnt has the same capabilities as the other consoles mentioned, but it's portable, and has this awesome game. In my opinion, this games captures everything that made Army of Two: the 40th day a different shooter. From the Aggro to the weapon customisation. It is a very easy game to pick up and play. If you ask me, it is a good game to buy, if you dont want to carry around a PS3 or an Xbox 360 in a trip, or want to play at your break in school/work. I have played both versions. But if you don't travel a lot, have one big console and don't mind traveling with it (if you go somewhere), buy the other version. Expand

"Exactly as advertised... a straightforward, shoot-em-up" Correct said Mike N and that is what reviewers dont seem to get. I got it yesterday and it is very fun. It reminds me of Metal Slug and Killzoneso and that makes it a great platformer indeed. Excellent graphics and easy controls. Fast action and story and that is exactly what I am looking for in games. I love old-school platformers. I love side-scrolling basic awesomeness. This game has nothing to offer. I got bored midway through. It simply repeats, over and over again, the same scenario each stage. It is similar to Killzone, except one major difference: it sucks. Do not waste your money on this one folks. Worth playing if you can get it for free, or borrow from a buddy, but that only once. Expand
