VW Amarok wins Ute of the Year Award

 It’s the Amarok, and for ute buyers in Australia it means the rule book has just been rewritten by Volkswagen.

We often read of a new vehicle being a “step ahead” or the “next generation” but in the case of the  Amarok it’s both of these and considerably more.  For the purposes of the quest to identify the “Delivery magazine Ute of the Year for 2011, we need look no further, it’s simply that impressive.

Amarok is currently the only ute with off road ability and providing a five star safety rating. This means that sales success is already guaranteed in any industry where OH&S forms a high priority such as with mining and local authorities.

 The launch of the Amarok has the potential to completely change the expectations of ute buyers in this country. In place of the inevitable compromise that comes from adapting a light commercial load carrier to that of family transport, Volkswagen has lifted the standard and now it’s up to the other manufacturers to attempt to follow its lead.
