WELCOME TO THE GOLD COAST DOLPHINS CRICKET CLUB

The Gold Coast District Cricket Club - 'The Dolphins' - was formed in 1990 to provide an opportunity for Gold Coast players to play at the elite level of cricket and strive for representative honours. Since it's inception the club has been home to a number of Queensland and Australian players, including current Australian bowling coach Craig "Billy the Kid" McDermott and Andrew "Roy" Symonds.  Both players have outstanding State and National records.  To see their career records have a look hereFor the 2010/11 season Chris Swan is on contract with the Qld Bulls and the emerging Michael Neser has been given a rookie contract.

The home ground, Kerrydale, has an excellent playing field and practice facilities. These facilities coupled with an experienced coaching staff provide players with an opportunity to develop their talents and attain their potential.  The club continues to provide representative players at all levels.  In the 2010/11 season four Dolphins played for the Bulls in the various forms of the game - Chris Swan, Andrew Robinson, Michael Neser and Brad Ipson.  Our juniors were also very well represented with Nick Stevens & Corey McMahon playing in the Australian U19 team,  Nick Stevens, Corey McMahon, Cameron Brimblecombe & Michael Granger in the Qld U19 team.  Three Dolphins - Nick Stevens (c), Sam Hain and Billy Stanlake also played in the Qld U17 team at the national championships held in Hobart where Nick was the leading runscorer for the championships finishing with 397 @ 99.25.  On top of that Simon Milenko, Cameron Brimblecombe and Nick Stevens were also members of the QAS U23 team.

The club boasts a modern clubhouse overlooking the picturesque Kerrydale Oval. Our experienced curator always produces a high standard wicket and the sand based oval has excellent drainage which always provides batsmen with value for shots. Practice facilities include three synthetic nets alongside six floodlit turf practice wickets.

The Dolphins will head into the 2011/12 season primed and ready to recapture a couple of Premierships.  This season will be entering teams in 1st, 2nd 3rd & 4th Grades as well as Under 18 Lord's Taverners in the Queensland Cricket Association District Grade Competition.
