Moving to London’s West Side

If you’re moving to London and still learning the lay of the land, it’s worth noting that Tottenham Court Road is not to be confused with the neighborhood of Tottenham (home of the Hotspurs football team) in the city’s north; the riots that rapidly spread across the latter area in 2011 have tarnished its reputation a bit, making it a less desirable location for finding houses in London.

Tottenham Court Road, on the other hand, is located more centrally and extends from the renowned shopping district of Oxford Street to Euston Road in the north, essentially dividing the neighborhoods of artistic Fitzrovia and literary Bloomsbury. Located near the famous British Museum at its southern end and the vast, lovely Regent’s Park to the north, the road is surrounded by a bustling area of shops and eclectic restaurants. Tottenham Court Road itself is a big shopping street comprised of a lot of electronics and furniture shops. It also contains Centre Point, the tallest building in the West End with amazing panoramic views of London (and a bird’s-eye view of the British Museum’s impressive glass ceiling!) at its top-floor Paramount restaurant.

Tottenham Court Road apartments have access to Tottenham Court Road station (its distinctive tiled interior recognizable from the ‘80s cult classic, An American Werewolf in London), which services the Central and Northern Underground lines, Goodge Street station (Northern line), and Euston Square and Warren Stations off the road’s northern end (Northern and Victoria lines). Tottenham Court Road is also within reasonable distance of King’s Cross and St. Pancras stations for trains out of the city to elsewhere in the UK or continental Europe. Almost twenty different bus routes run from outside Tottenham Court Road station, and there are at least a couple Barclays bikes stations on the road itself with several others nearby.

Finding Tottenham Court Road Apartments

The quest for perfect flats in London is never without its struggles when you do it on your own. To view Tottenham Court Road apartments in particular, you’ll need to seek out several individual estate agencies in the local vicinity—they’re the only ones listing properties in the neighborhood, but not any one of them will list them all, so you’ll want to consult with multiple of them to see a fair and accurate representation of the flats available for your particular time frame and budget.

It’s unfortunate that the London rentals market doesn’t utilize MLS (multiple listing system), but to compensate for that, we at London Relocation become your own personal MLS. We start the process with a thorough and attentive discussion with you so that we get an insightful understanding of who you are and what you’re looking for. In view of your requirements and personal preferences, we’ll advise you on what neighborhood is an ideal fit for you, be it around Tottenham Court Road or elsewhere in the city (we can even take you on a tour of different areas so you can get an advance feel for whether a locale is right for you).

Once we’ve determined your specific location and property brief, we’ll chauffeur you to 18 to 25 London flats, exhausting the local market so you’ll have no room for doubt that the ultimate property that you choose is perfect! We also ensure our clients get the best rent prices on their London apartments and accommodate any other needs for successfully moving to London.
