Moving to London’s West-Central Side

More than its selection of London apartments for rent, this central part of London is best known for its iconic tourist sites like Westminster, Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, the National Gallery, Buckingham Palace, and top-notch thespian talent in the West End. Piccadilly Circus is always abuzz with shoppers, theatregoers, and just aimless wanderers taking in its Times Square-esque vibe, and this certainly carries over into Leicester Square and Covent Garden, which are at the heart of London’s theatre district.

Covent Garden apartments are situated in the thick of the entertainment. Densely populated with historic theatres, the Royal Opera House, restaurants, cafés, and a quaint network of streets lined with high street and boutique shopping, the neighborhood is most characterized by its covered Covent Garden Market, an open-air little mall of sorts selling everything from kitschy London souvenirs and low-cost bags and accessories to more upmarket clothing, artisan crafts, and some of the most bizarre flavors of ice cream you’ll ever find. Sitting on the top floor terrace of one of the market’s intimate little pubs, you get a bird’s-eye view of street performers enthralling the crowds and can easily imagine Eliza Doolittle sitting by, peddling her flowers and assaulting Professor Higgins’s ears with her Cockney accent. It’s a delightful spot for catching a show, grabbing a post-theatre drink, or popping in all the shops, though is admittedly a lot of bustle that doesn’t make Covent Garden apartments the most peaceful of residences. A large student population can be found here, however, so if you’re moving to London for a youthful and active social scene, then this could be for you.

Covent Garden tube station (servicing the Piccadilly line) is the neighborhood’s central station, but depending on which edge of it your search for London flats takes you, you can likewise catch the Piccadilly line (as well as Northern line) at Leicester Square station to the west and Holborn to the northeast (which is also on the Central line), or the District and Circle lines at Temple down on the Victoria Embankment. At least 30 bus routes zigzag in and around Covent Garden, and there are five different docking stations for renting Barclays bikes. Rail lines to southeast London and Kent are also accessible not too far away at Charing Cross station.

Finding Covent Garden Apartments

Listings for Covent Garden apartments will be available at any area lettings agency; just know that not any one of these agencies will be able to show you all listings. That’s often the case in any city, yet in an ideal London rentals market, the local industry would therefore utilize MLS so that different agencies could share each other’s properties, but not so in reality. It’s a bummer, we know.

If you’re interested in learning more about Covent Garden and assessing whether its vibrant atmosphere would be conducive to your lifestyle, a London Relocation agent will gladly consult with you on the neighborhood’s merits and pitfalls as a personal residence and advise on other locations that might also meet your fancy. We can even take you on a personal tour of the area so you can get the feel of it for yourself if you’ve never been.

Once we have a comprehensive understanding of what you’re looking for and within what parameters (such budget, time frame, number of bedrooms, etc.), if you enlist our services, we can then take you to view 18 to 25 Covent Garden apartments (or other London apartments if you’d like to try somewhere else) in a day and have your lease negotiated and signed by that same evening if time is of the essence—and we understand that it usually is! Especially with how rapidly flats in London turn over at any given time of the year (summer is the busiest).

Rest assured, we take care of everything you need to get sorted before, during, and after your relocation so that moving to London is overall a fast and seamless experience.
