An Alaska militia member was sentenced Monday to over 25 years for a murder plot in U.S. District Court in Anchorage.

Lonnie Vernon admitted in a plea agreement to buying a gun, silencer, and hand grenades, and having maps to a federal judge’s home in August 2012.

His wife, Karen Vernon, will also be sentenced Monday for her role in the murder conspiracy, which developed over paying taxes.

The Vernons were members of the Alaska Peacemakers Militia, that was led by Schaeffer Cox , who was convicted for conspiring to murder federal officials and owning illegal weapons.

Cox is scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday, January 8.
