Todd Carpenter

Todd Carpenter
Executive Director

Todd Carpenter joined NISO as Managing Director in September 2006. In this role, Todd provides leadership to NISO as well as focuses on improving constituency relationships, standards development, and operational procedures. Prior to joining NISO, Todd was Director of Business Development with BioOne, where he served the goals of both libraries and publishers by enhancing products, services, and distribution. Previously, Todd directed the marketing of approximately 60 academic journals and was closely involved in the growth of Project MUSE at the Johns Hopkins University Press. He has also held marketing and business development positions at the Energy Intelligence Group, a news service covering the oil and natural gas industries, and the Haworth Press, an academic and professional publisher. Todd is a graduate of Syracuse University and earned a masters degree in marketing from The Johns Hopkins University.

Nettie Lagace
Associate Director for Programs

Nettie Lagace is the Associate Director for Programs at NISO, where she is responsible for facilitating the work of NISO's topic committees and development groups for standards and best practices, and working with the community to encourage broad adoption of this consensus work. Prior to joining NISO in May 2011, Nettie worked at Ex Libris, where she served for 11 years in a number of library and information provider-facing roles, most recently Product Director, working on the SFX link resolver, Verde electronic resource management software, and bX scholarly recommender service. Her previous positions were at Baker Library, Harvard Business School, and the School of Information, University of Michigan. Nettie holds a Masters of Library and Information Studies degree from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wellesley College.

Juliana Wood
Educational Programs Manager

Juliana joined NISO in November 2012 to fill the newly created role of Educational Programs Manager. In her position, Juliana will manage the efforts of the Education Committee as it seeks to secure relevant speakers and timely event topics. Previous to joining NISO, she was the Manager of External Communications and Marketing for Johns Hopkins Engineering for Professionals, overseeing all marketing, recruitment and outreach efforts, as well as editing and publishing the annual Academic Catalog. Before her time at JHU, Juliana held marketing management positions at Borders Books and Music and Bibelot. She holds a BA in French Literature, and an AAS in Veterinary Technology.

Cynthia Hodgson
Technical Editor/Consultant, Newsline Editor, and ISQ Managing Editor

Cynthia Hodgson is an independent information consultant and writer, located in Pittsburgh, PA, with over 20 years of experience as a corporate librarian, library and records manager, and information technology manager at Westinghouse Electric Corp. and Alcoa, Inc. She taught graduate level courses in the Schools of Library and Information Science at the University of Pittsburgh and the University of South Carolina and held local and national offices in the Special Libraries Association and the Industrial and Technical Information Managers Group. She has provided consulting and support for NISO's standards program since 2002.
