A number of new features are included in version 4.10.0. The most important ones are outlined below. Please obtain the release notes for full details.
As per 30 July, this is the only available endpoint for Scopus: http://services.elsevier.com/EWSFEDSRFSearchWebService/FEDSRFSearchServiceV4. The default endpoint for Scopus has been changed accordingly. It is also possible to change the endpoint manually in Pure from the administrative tab.
Journal matching has been changed such that externally managed journals score higher in the matching during own import. This feature requires Pure to be re-indexed; administrators can do that from the administrative tab.
This job updates the bibliometrics for publications imported from Thomson Reuters (Web of Science). The job can be scheduled under "Cron Job Scheduling" in the Administration tab. The technical name of the job is "WOSCitationUpdateJob". This feature is currently only available with base UK.
Editing of Supervised by and Supervisor for is now supported. This feature is currently only available with base UK.
Editing of Opening balance with regards to Award/Financial breakdown is now supported. This feature is currently only available with base UK.
Editing of Project Spending Breakdown is now supported. This feature is currently only available with base UK.
The user-interface design of the "History and Comments" tab has been improved. It now more clearly represent the history of the content object in question and the comments that have been made
The algorithms used by Pure to identify duplicate content objects have been refactored, and will now more effectively assist relevant users in related tasks. The change requires that the "updateAggregatePropertiesJob" is executed once by a system administrator. The job is available from the Cron Job section of the administrative tab.
It is now possible to quickly add persons (such as authors) or other related content objects directly from a search field presented to the right of the relation listing.
It is now possible to show a graph of relations for certain content types. The graph shows each object as an icon with a title and lines representing relations between objects.
Click on the small "atom" icon to the right of some content in a list in order to bring up the graph. You can browse through the graph by double clicking an object, which will then focus the graph on that object; thereby revealing its relations. By single clicking on an object, details are shown on the right with a button for opening the object in a new editor window. It is possible to select which types of objects should be shown, which helps avoid excessively rich graphs.
The overview page for personal users is now divided into two tabs: "My research" and "My profile". Everything related to CVs has been moved to the "My profile" tab, which makes both tabs easier to overview and read.
Pure's Web Service API has been extended with an option to limit persons by e-mail information, phone number, and mobile phone number. All three limitations can be used with sub-string matching, and they can be combined into a "match any of the above" type of request, which will cause a person record to be matched as long as any one of the three criteria is met.
Four new elements are added to the complex type AbstractPersonCriteriaType@ http://atira.dk/schemas/pure4/model/abstractperson/stable. mobilePhoneNumber, phoneNumber, and email, all of type string and phoneAndEmailMatchAny of type Boolean.
Pure's Web Service API has been extended with an option to limit content on user-defined keywords. The new element is called userDefinedKeywords, and it can contain any number of user-defined keywords. Only content that matches the keyword or keywords specified in the request will be returned.
A new overview page has been made available for users with reporting privileges called the reporting dashboard. The dashboard header displays key figures for the most important content types in Pure. These key figures can be expanded into detailed reports.
To that, the dashboard features small so-called "Widgets". Widgets display statistical and summary information about content and can be added, removed and rearranged on the dashboard to users' liking. Data on the dashboard can be filtered by a custom range of years and by selected organisational units, and the appearance of the dashboard can be changed with different column layouts. Values displayed are usually clickable. Clicking will take the user to a list of the data items behind the header- or widget display.
Users with appropriate rights can now create content directly from the workspace's left menu. New "+ buttons" next to each content type facilitate that.
The height of new content editing windows (sometimes also referred to as "editors") will adapt to better use the available height of individual user's computer desktops, which provides a better overview of the editor.
When Terms of Agreement are enabled in Pure, users logging on must accept the Terms of Agreement. This support legislation in certain countries.
Terms of Agreement can be enabled under the Administrator tab -> System Settings -> Terms of Agreement. Administrators can insert the institution's own Terms of agreement from Administrator tab -> Terms of Agreement, where the "New Terms of Agreement" button is found. When saving, the new Terms of Agreement receives a version number. When new Terms are created, a higher version number is assigned.
A number of new features have been added to the REF module. ?
It is now possible to set up multiple scenarios, each one representing different assignments of staff to Units of Assessment.
Staff UoA assignments are can now be set from the REF Staff editor. The would-be submission results of different scenarios can be studied from Pure's UoA overview page. ?
The REF overview page now displays the number of students per REF staff. Further, postgraduate students have been divided into three subcategories: Active, Awarded, and Expected Awarded. An "Active" student is one with an end date after the REF period (01.08.07 - 31.07.13) or no end date. An "Awarded" student is one with an award date within the REF period, where "Expected" students are ones to whom award is anticipated within the REF period. ?
It is possible to click summarisations to see the data on which the summarisation is based. If for instance a REF staff has three active students, clicking the number 3 will produce a list of the individuals in question.?
Similarly, it is now possible to see the total sum of research grants awarded per REF staff within the REF period. The amount is multiplied by the ownership percentage of each grant. If no ownership percentage was set, and the grant was awarded to more that one person, the amount is equally divided between the persons in question. This last procedure (the equal division of grants with percentages set) was introduced out of necessity - we strongly recommend setting ownership percentages, either in Pure or in the source system that provides the data for Pure (such as the institution's award management system).
Finally about the REF module in this release, both the number of students per REF staff and the amount of grants are also available on the REF staff editor on new tabs.
The REF module is only available with base UK.
