Llyn Foulkes, Fellow in Fine ARts, 1977, and Pablo Helguera, Fellow in Photography, 2008

From May 4 through June 29, the group exhibition Hypnotherapy will be on view at Kent Fine Art gallery in New York City. The show features the work of Guggenheim Fellows Llyn Foulkes and Pablo Helguera and four other major artists, all of whom “share an intense and introspective working process.” Hypnotherapy is presented in conjunction with The New Yorker-sponsored Passport to the Arts event.

Tom Kalin, Fellow in Film-Video, 2011

A professor in Columbia University’s graduate film program, Savage Grace filmmaker, and AIDS activist, Tom Kalin will be hosting a panel discussion at the School of Visual Arts about the award-winning film And the Band Played On as part of the Tribeca Film Festival. Entitled After the Movie: Exploring the Science of AIDS & the Arts, the event will take place on Saturday, April 27, and will feature as panelists Matthew Modine, Ron Nyswaner, and David France. Then, on May 11, he will join Queens Museum curator Manon Slome and artist and architectural historian Azra Akšamija for a discussion of the Arte Útil Lab, a long-term project of Cuban artist and Guggenheim Fellow Tania Bruguera (Fine Arts, 1998).

Cheryle St. Onge, Fellow in Photography, 2009

The University of Maine Museum of Art is pleased to present the second I-95 Triennial: From Connecticut to Maine offers a unique glimpse into the diversity of contemporary creative practice by artists from five New England states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. The exhibition features works in an array of media, from sculpture and painting to photography and mixed media. Several photographs from Cheryle St. Onge's Natural Findings series are included in this group exhibition. The show opens Thursday, April 4, with an opening reception from 5 to 8pm.

Lothar Osterburg, Fellow in Fine Arts, 2010

As part of its celebration of Grand Central Terminal’s hundredth anniversary, New York City’s Metropolitan Transit Authority is treating subway riders to Lothar Osterburg’s Zeppelins in Grand Central. Not only will posters of this photogravure grace many of the city’s subway cars but it will also be featured in the group exhibition On Time/Grand Central at 100, which will be on view at the New York Transit Museum Gallery Annex at Grand Central from March 6 through July 7, 2013.  The MTA has also chosen works by three other Fellows in Fine Arts for inclusion in this exhibition: Jim Campbell (2003), Penelope Umbrico (2011), and Olive Ayhens (2006).
