This year was all about the ladies, with some amazing comebacks, some fresh new faces, and some big acts from last year getting even bigger. Everywhere you turned, it seemed that some hot chica was doing it for the sisters, and their hard work hasn't gone unnoticed! That's why we're showing them some love AND letting you decide which one is the BEST!

Jessie J

Fresh off a massive 2011, Jessie J stormed into 2012 with a re-release of her debut album - this time adding Domino, a new tune that took her to No 1 on UK charts and proved a big hit in the USA. In May she teamed-up with dancefloor genius David Guetta on Lazerlight, another Top 5 smash. And if that wasn't enough, she became queen of the TV screen too as a mentor on The Voice and gave a showstopping performance to millions of viewers at the Olympic closing ceremony. Vote for Jessie.

Pink

The year started off quietly for new mother Pink, but she didn't just spend her time just changing nappies! The unstoppable music-making machine was also busy at work on her brand new album The Truth About Love. In September she released the lead single, Blow Me, and made a breathtaking performance at iTunes Festival 2012. Add to that her jaw-dropping video for Try, and it looks like our feisty pop princess is back on top! Vote for Pink.

Beyonce

Beyonce stepped out of the limelight for much of 2012 to concentrate on new daughter Blu Ivy, but she still managed to rock the charts with Love On Top and a video she'd filmed month's earlier, before her baby bump got too big for the dance moves. She's currently at work on her fifth studio album, and is rumoured to be working on tracks with Kanye West! Vote for Beyonce.

Nicki Minaj

Nicki kicked off the year in grand style, teaming up with David Guetta on Turn Me On, and Madonna and M.I.A. with Give Me All Your Lovin'. In March she unleashed Starships on the world, her highest-charting UK hit to date, and not to mention the carnivaltastic video for Pound The Alarm. A big year for our bootilicious babe. Vote for Nicki.

Taylor Swift

2012 was the year Taylor made the journey from country favourite to mainstream megastar. First she dished up a surprise collab with rapper B.o.B. on Both Of Us, and then unveiled her irresistibly anthemic breakup track We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, her first UK Top 5 since Love Story back in 2008. Finishing the year with a hit album Red, Taylor's really outdone herself! Vote for Taylor.

Rita Ora

Rita burst onto our screens in February with vocals on DJ Fresh’s dance mega-smash Hot Right Now. Signed to Jay-Z's label, she shot all the way to No 1 with her first solo single R.I.P., feauturing a guest spot from Tinie Tempah. In August she released what she described as her “summer jam”, the ridiculously catchy How We Do (Party). It was another massive hit - her third No 1 in just six months. Vote for Rita.

Katy Perry

Our Katy had a tough start to the year. After splitting with Russell Brand, her husband of 14 months, we would all have forgiven her for spending the next couple of months under her duvet, eating ice-cream and watching Bridget Jones movies. But she bounced back in February with Part Of Me, looking like a musical GI Jane, all guns blazing to the No 1 spot. May saw the release of Wide Awake, and then came her eyepopping 3D concert movie Part Of Me. Another powerhouse year for Ms Perry. Vote for Katy.

Cheryl Cole

Dropping the surname - it's just Cheryl now - was all part of a big comeback for this British icon which kicked off with Call My Name – a stormer of a single written and produced by dancefloor legend Calvin Harris. With a video filmed in Los Angeles, the track went straight in at number one in May and Cheryl was officially back! Her third solo album followed in July and then its next single, Under The Sun. Add to that an arena tour and a Girls Aloud reunion - what a year! Vote for Cheryl.

Tulisa

Tulisa dove headfirst into the world of solo diva-dom this year, and what a splash she made. After the unfortunate sex tape fiasco, she bounced back with her No 1 debut single Young. The video was filmed in scorching hot Miami, and Tulisa obviously developed a taste for exotic locations as her next stop was Hawaii for the follow-up single Live It Up. Add to that a return to The X Factor for her second year as a judge and FHM magazine's ranking as the sexiest woman in the world and it’s clear Tulisa truly is the female boss. Vote for Tulisa.

Rihanna

The unstoppable hit machine from Barbados provided plenty more big ones in 2012. She kicked off the year in the charts with You Da One, the second single from her huge Talk That Talk album. In April she got a nice cuddle from Drake for Take Care and in June she took the Top 10 once again with the exotic AND energetic video for Where Have You Been. But by far the most surprising moment in Rihanna’s musical year came when she teamed up with British stadium sensations Coldplay for the epic tune Princess Of China. So she was the Princess Of China but is she your pop princess? Vote for Rihanna.
