Olivia Wilde, Hailee Steinfeld star in 'The Keeping Room'

Olivia Wilde and Hailee Steinfeld will star in The Keeping Room.

Nicole Beharie will join them in the Daniel Barber-directed Wind Dancer Films production, reports ComingSoon.net.



The period drama is set in the final days of the American Civil War, and centres around two white sisters and their slave who are forced to defend their home from rogue Unionist soldiers.

"I am thrilled to be working with these three fantastic actors, and very excited to be directing this great script," said Barber.

Principal photography will begin during March 2013 in North Carolina.

Wilde will next be seen alongside Jim Carrey and Steve Carell in The Incredible Burt Wonderstone.

Steinfeld is lined up for Romeo and Juliet, Can a Song Save Your Life? and Ender's Game.

Beharie featured in Steve McQueen's Shame.
