Accompanied with Family

Soldiers arriving with families will be linked with either their sponsor or unit representative as the priority remains to ensure adequate housing and to settle families prior to the Soldier completing in-processing. Temporary lodging is available at the WSMR Army Lodging. Rooms at Army Lodging fill quickly, call (575) 678-1838, or DSN (312) 258-4559, to make a reservation.

Unaccompanied

Unaccompanied Soldiers will be transported to WSMR to begin in-processing, after which they will be released to their units to secure permanent lodging. For more information please call the 2D Engineer Battalion S1 NCOIC at (575) 674-7810 or DSN (312) 349-0135 Arriving by Plane

When you arrive at the El Paso Airport, go to the Military Assistance Desk located in the arrival terminal, where Army Representatives will assist you. You will be picked up by Staff Duty and brought to WSMR where you will begin in-processing. The Staff Duty desk can be reached at (575) 679-0134 or DSN (312) 349-0134.

Bring the following when signing in to the unit:

  • Copy of Orders to White Sands
  • Copy of ERB/ORB
  • Copy of last NCOER/OER
  • Current Leave form
  • copy of DA 1059 if PCS en route from school
  • copy of DD93
  • copy of SGLI
  • ID Tags
  • ID Card
  • Promotion Packet (if applicable)

*AR 670-1 applies when reporting in to the 2d EN BN.
