Hi Emje, Sign0110

I cant think which thread it was either, but you can read about the HRV in this article:

http://www.seekgod.ca/trfactor2.htm

James Trimm is most well known for his Hebraic Roots Version [HRV] of the Bible - he allegedly plagiarized the NT and used corrupt manuscripts such as the Shem Tov, Hebrew Matthew and changed the Names of God, Jesus, and Lord to the Sacred Names. Lightning

Mr Trimm took prepaid pre-orders for the complete HRV four-five years before it was published. Then those who had ordered it never received the version and were told that the money was for a "donation", not for product. Some people spent a good sum having ordered multiple copies for their congregrations at $50-60 each. Although some people finally received their version, it was of inferior quality, with grammar and spelling issues.

He also came out with a NT commentary based on his NT HRV that was loaded with kabbalah. Mr Trimm has many kabbalistic teachings via his email forums as well. He has "translated" several pseudographical books [Apocrypha] which he accepts as inspired scriptures. Mr Timm has no degrees in Hebrew, Aramaic or Greek, but promotes himself as "Dr" Trimm with a "doctorate" from a diploma mill. He has never provided proof of either a BA or a Master's Degree which are mandatory prerequisites for a doctorate in any field of study. According to language scholars that have spoken with him, he is not familiar with either Hebrew or Aramaic.

Mr Trimm's private life is blatantly unscriptural. Pornographic material has been seen in his home by credible witnesses, and he and his wife had a soap opera forum promoting an ungodly life style. At one point, Mr Trimm was involved in an adulterous affair, all the while promoting and writing his teachings. At this time he was also begging for money for his family via the internet. Mr Trimm admitted to the adultery via his email forums, but the full story was disclosed on another forum by one of his associates at that time. It can be read here, which includes the legal removal of Mr Trimm from his Beit Din:

Hope that helps.

Exclamation RE: Lawsuit against James Trimm for his HRV
Update on James Trimm and his HRV.

The Way International has filed a lawsuit June 12, 2009, in Texas Federal Court against James Trimm for CopyRight Infringement.

//dockets.justia.com/browse/state-texas/court-txndce/noscat-10/nos-820/

Federal District Court Filings > Texas > Texas Northern District Court > Intellectual Property > Copyrights

June 12, 2009
The Way International v. Trimm et al TX Northern McBryde Copyrights Copyright Infringement

Plaintiff: The Way International Defendant: James Trimm, Society for the Advancement of Nazarene Judaism

*The Way International has asked for a trial by jury.
*****

According to James Trimm on one of his blogs, the lawsuit is an attempt to ban his HR version, due to the 'correct Hebrew' etc. In his first announcement he says nothing about copyright infringement being the issue. He also starts his initial announcement post by a brief history of the HRV, albeit lacking the repeated failed delivery dates etc, and compares a few verses the HRV with The Way International's “Aramaic English Interlinear New Testament” (AEINT), declaring their translation to be antinomian, anti torah, etc. He then makes it appear that a different organisation is launching the lawsuit for copyright infringement: [Re failed del dates etc: See: http://www.seekgod.ca/fraudnewsflash.htm

The Bible they are trying to Ban! Posted by James Trimm on August 7, 2009 at 7:47pm

"....Now an ostensibly Christian organization has filed a federal lawsuit seeking to effectively ban the Hebraic Roots Version… this is a version of the Bible they do not want you to have!...You can make donations to this legal defense fund at *** or at ***. You can also make tithes and offerings to the WNAE general fund at the same locations." nazarenespace.ning.com/profiles/blogs/the-bible-they-are-trying-to

-----------------

After a few comments supporting his version by his followers, he responded with this:

---------------------

"Comment by James Trimm on August 7, 2009 at 9:55pm We were served with the suite back on July 15th but have not said anything yet until we had consulted with council and created a legal fund. I am not sure how much of the details of the suite I can reveal yet, am waiting to hear from my atty on some of that. But suffice it to say we believe that banning a Bible would be unconstitutional to say the least. As I said there are more details, but I am waiting for word from our attorney about how much I should state publicly at this time. Among other issues is that arguing this case in the forums, will reveal our legal strategies to the other side before we have even gotten to court."

"Comment by James Trimm on August 7, 2009 at 11:00pm Yes, we believe we can win... but first we have to respond to the suite (or they win by default).
That means serious legal expenses. (We are asking the court to order them to pay our legal fees, but that is all after the fact, and there is no guarantee). "
nazarenespace.ning.com/profiles/blogs/the-bible-they-are-trying-to

"Comment by James Trimm on August 8, 2009 at 8:04pm OK I know you all have been asking some questions, and I can now answer SOME of them.

The ostensibly Christian organization suing us is The Way International, the group I wrote of in this blog:
nazarenespace.ning.com/profiles/blogs/there-is-a-way-which-seems.

Their suite alleges that our Hebraic Roots Version infringes on the copyright their AEINT translation, and they are thus asking the court to effectively ban the HRV. We have not infringed on their copyright and feel very strongly that we can win this case, but that is all I can say right now. It is not our intention to reveal our legal arguments here before ever getting to the court room. This would be like a football team telling the press what plays they intend to run before game day.

No matter how ridiculous you think this suite might be, we must respond to it in court and it is in a court room where we may ultimately have to show it to be ridiculous. If we do not argue our case in court, then they will prevail by default. So even if the suite is ridiculous, we must respond to it and that means legal fees. We MAY recover those fees later, but that will be up to a judge and after the fact, before we even get that far, we must pay those fees and fight this thing.

That is all I can say for now as I said above. "

Note: The blog entry which James Trimm references: "The ostensibly Christian organization suing us is The Way International, the group I wrote of in this blog: nazarenespace.ning.com/profiles/blogs/there-is-a-way-which-seems." was written just prior to his announcement concerning the lawsuit.

"There is a way which seems right unto a man...Posted by James Trimm on August 3, 2009 at 10:30pm"

In it, in what we can assume is damage control for the upcoming lawsuit, he reviews The Way International beliefs as being antinomian and so on.

Forgotten by some are the associations James Trimm had with The Way International.

From the article: Michael Rood & James Trimm & The WAY > http://www.SeekGod.ca/trfactor2.htm

"....What James failed to list in his translation resources was The Way International Bible. James Trimm also neglected to mention that in 1993 he put out a request on the internet, for a copy of that Version.

...CALLING ALL MEMBERS AND EX-MEMBERS OF THE WAY INTERNATIONAL!

I am looking for members and ex-members of The Way International. As you may know, the late Dr. Wierwille, founder of The Way International, taught that the NT was originally written in Aramaic, that the Peshitta Aramaic NT is an important witness to the NT text, and that research tools on this subject are badly needed. As the following quotes demonstrate:

"...Aramaic was the original language in which the New Testament was written..."-- Dr. Victor Paul Wierwille; Twenty-fifth Anniversay Souvenir Booklet, p. 17.

"For centuries, the Greek versions of the New Testament have recieved their due attention while the Aramaic versions, for the most part, have been neglected. Discoveries in textual criticism in the last 150 years, however, have shown the Peshitta [Aramaic] text,... and other versions play as vital a role as the Greek in ascertaining the original New Testament text... In recent times some scholars have demonstrated that a Palestinian Aramaic original lies behind the Greek versions of New Testament documents.... research tools of the Peshitta [Aramaic] Version are essential to this task."-- Dr. Victor Paul Wierwille; The Concordance to the Peshitta Version of the Aramaic New Testament; p. ix

If you are interested in this type of research we would like to hear from you.

end quote

Also forgotten, is the following concerning Trimm's associations. From the same article:

"...When James Trimm appears to have used The Way International Bible for at least a source for his "translation" of his Hebrew Roots Version, he made a connection to the foundational theology of false prophet Michael John Rood. Roods beginnings and many of his current teachings are linked directly to Way International theology. But more than that. People who work together and believe together, are joined together. It has been alleged that Chris Lingle and Eric Sandquist were both reportedly 'former' Way International members and worked, and Sandquist continues to work, with James Trimm. If true, that means they also, at least while in The Way, denied the Deity of Jesus Christ...."

That article also holds more Way International connections to James Trimm.

Michael Rood & James Trimm & The WAY > http://www.SeekGod.ca/trfactor2.htm

I believe there is a difference in a lawsuit based on violation of copyright than someone simply attempting to ban a 'bible' aka James Trimm's Hebraic Roots Version, which many would question it's validity and content regardless of beliefs.

You will notice that in his first announcement James Trimm stated:

"Comment by James Trimm on August 7, 2009 at 9:55pm We were served with the suite back on July 15th but have not said anything yet...

If my understanding is correct on what is meant in the court docket filing, he was sent a summons June 16, not July 15th.
