Dancing with Chaos – Remembering Patricia
I’m one of the readers at an event in memory of Patricia Monaghan. It takes place at 7.30 p.m., Tuesday the 29th of January at the Irish Writers’ Centre. Details here.
Patricia was a fellow Salmon poet. She co-founded the Black Earth Institute, publishers of About Place Journal, in which my poem The Idlewild Rose appeared last year.
You can read about Patricia Monaghan here.

Circus Europe – exhibition and book
The artist Machteld van Buren has created a series of collages to represent some of the countries in Europe. She asked poets – four Dutch, four Irish – to respond. I wrote a new poem, Mono in response to her Spain collage.
The collages can be seen at the Courthouse Gallery, Ennistymon until February 1st when the show will end with a panel discussion and a talk from the artist.
I took part in the launch reading on January 12th, along with poets Frank Golden, Jo Slade, Peter van Lier and Jessie Lendennie of Salmon.
Salmon has produced an art-book featuring the poems and the collages. You can buy it at Salmon.

Review of Kaldor City: Metafiction in Celestial Toyroom
Produced by Magic Bullet, Kaldor City is a series of audio plays that blend the world of Chris Boucher’s Doctor Who story “Robots of Death” with at least one character from Blake’s 7. I’ve written a review of “Kaldor City: Metafiction” for the current issue of Celestial Toyroom. The review is also available to read here.
