Not if you poll the harpies on UB. They rushed to judgment as soon as Obama said if he had a son, he would look like Trayvon. These idiots think this case is about Skittles and racism.

Because at least he's a principled liberal, as opposed to a liberal who reflexively grabs a "man bites dog" lede about how some poor black kid was murdered by a wicked white vigilante.

Dershowitz correctly states the law of self-defense. Take notes, all UB harpies: Even "if Zimmerman verbally provoked Martin, but Martin then got on top of Zimmerman and banged his head into the ground, broke his nose, bloodied his eyes and persisted in attacking Zimmerman — and if Zimmerman couldn’t protect himself from further attack except by shooting Martin — he would have the right to do that. (The prosecution has already admitted that it has no evidence that Zimmerman started the actual fight.)"

That she was an extremely lucky little girl- not only does she have food, a nice home, school, and two parents who love her, but she also has nice toys, gets to go on nice vacations, and gets to do soccer and ballet. I told her that the majority of kids in the world don't get a tenth of the things that she gets. Agreed, some volunteer work will definitely be in her future.

Lately she's been asking questions like "Why don't we have a home in the Hamptons?" and "Can we spend the summer in France like my friend _____ is?" I try not to make it about money and give her other responses, but sometimes it's pretty obvious and there isn't much else you can say.

I think it's just a mindset. When I was 7 up to age of 10 I thought we were rich. I lived in the projects, but both mom & dad worked and we had a car. We took a trip once a year camping which I loved and I really didn't care about toys and clothes (I had very few). One day I was shocked reading about what income was considered poverty line--we got free cheese after all. I remember that to this day.

You are wrong to be upset over using the name. But (and answer this truthfully) would you have been upset with anything because she is pregnant and you are still in mourning? I have two close friends who have children on either side of the edd for a child that wasn't meant to be and I know I was very sensistive about their pregnancies.

bullshit. i have had nannies and my children have had nannies. they might love them like they love a niece or a nephew or a baby cousin or a friend's baby but it's not the same as the mother's love. the mother might not even be as "fun" or "nurturing" but you know the mother would take a bullet for that kid. the nanny, probably not. could be, but probably not.

I think it depends how old the kids are when the nanny starts taking care of them. If babies, then much more natural for the nanny to love the kids. If the kids are older when she starts, much less likely.

It varies district by district. My friend teaches in a large city in the midwest and starts at about $37k, retires at almost $70k. You can look it up online (I thought about teaching so I checked out some salaries in various cities). Other places start at $30k, in NYC starts at about 50k I think. Starting salary is not that different from most jobs right out of college but there's no big promotion or big jump in salary. Most places you will never hit 70k.

They actually get less salary than the free market (look at private school salaries) but have better benefits.

I don't consider that to be the main purpose of them. They are a party to celebrate the new baby coming along.

np: Oh come on, it is definitely the primary purpose, along with the celebration. No shame in it - people like to give and help our first time moms, and most of them could use the help.

Having kids near 40 is very late in the reproductive window. It is hard to snap back when you're older. Basic biology.

I've always been size 4; it wasn't my weight. It is the fitness level, strength and confidence. Had skinny arms and calves; now shapely and strong. Feel rock solid!

I think the midlife metabolism responds better to weight training than anything else I've done. I did yoga forever and never got these results. Highly recommend it

Don't dismiss it when you only have to shop for toilet paper, paper towels, Ziplocs and garbage bags twice a year. It's awesome. I can also back up to my front door since I have a circular driveway. Worth it.
