Prof. Dr. Claudia M. Buch

• Council member since 1 March 2012, succeeding Professor Beatrice Weder di Mauro, who resigned from the Council in February 2012

• Professor Claudia M. Buch, born in 1966, studied Economics at Bonn University. From 1992 to 2003, she was research associate at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy where she became head of the research area "Financial Markets" in 1998. She finished her doctorate in 1996 and her habilitation (postgradual qualification) in 2002, both at the Christian-Albrechts-University, Kiel. In 2004, she became Professor in Economics, focusing on money and currency, at Tuebingen University. She has been the Scientific Director of the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IAW) in Tuebingen since 2005.
