Neighbor calls police after hearing woman shout 'Stop! No!' for officers to discover she was telling boyfriend to stop passing gas

A team of Detroit area police officers had a good laugh after a suspected domestic violence dispute turned out to be a woman’s dramatic reaction to her boyfriend passing gas.

A concerned neighbor called 911 after she heard what sounded like a domestic violence dispute between a woman and her boyfriend living in the same apartment complex in Clawson, Michigan.

‘One of the neighbors had heard somebody yelling — a female yelling … she was possibly being hit — yelling, “Stop! No!”’ the local police chief, Harry Anderson, told WWJ Newsradio 950.

The concerned neighbor also reported that she heard a repeated loud noise in between the shouts, Anderson said.

The officers reportedly arrived at the residence within minutes.

When they knocked on the door to the unit, the woman who answered said that she had indeed been shouting, ‘Stop!’ but that her boyfriend was not beating her.

‘The female that was inside stated that her boyfriend had continued to pass gas, and she was yelling at him to stop,’ Anderson told WWJ.

The officers then ‘cleared the scene expeditiously,’ the police report jokingly states.

‘It’s quite often that we respond to things that have a funny twist to them — and this was definitely one for the books,’ Anderson said.

The poor guy could have been charged with possession of a weapon of mass destruction. The NSA should have alerted them upon hearing the phone call requesting a case of beans.

Domestic violence is a real problem. Kudos to whoever reported this, even if it was not an emergency. Or maybe it was to her!!!
