Double the joy! Emmy Rossum celebrates Fourth of July and wrapping her latest movie with a party in The Hamptons
|
Emmy Rossum had more to celebrate than most when the Fourth of July rolled around on Thursday.
The actress has just wrapped her latest movie in Los Angeles, so decided to spend her Independence Day relaxing at a glamorous New York party.
The 26-year-old Shameless star attended the Macklowe Family bags in upper crust The Hamptons.
Holiday fun: Emmy Rossum played with red and blue balloons on Thursday during the Macklowe Family Fourth of July party in The Hamptons area of New York
She was spotted with party host Julie Macklowe, a former hedge fund manager who currently invests in fashion companies and youthful designers.
The Phantom Of The Opera star wore a fun multi-coloured mid-thigh summer dress that showed off her lean pins.
The sleeveless dress, in patriotic red, white and blue hues, also revealed the actress' toned arms.
Blowing up: Emmy used her lung power to inflate a blue balloon as she got stuck into the celebrations
Emmy walked around barefoot on the lawn and wore her dark hair in a single large braid tucked under a white sun hat with a wide dark blue hat ribbon.
She was wearing bright red lipstick which she was careful not to smudge as she blew up some red and blue balloons, and also stopped to take photographs with her friends.
Emmy was coming off a busy few weeks shooting Comet in Los Angeles with co-star Justin Long.
Balloon pose: Emmy smiled as she posed with her balloons in an equally festive red, white and blue dress
The 18-day shoot wrapped up late Monday night and Emmy quickly made her way to New York.
The film has been scheduled for release next January.
July 4 is a public holiday in the United States and arguably one of the most enthusiastically celebrated by U.S. citizens.
Barefoot beauty: Emmy enjoyed the lawn without shoes on and dug her toes into the freshly cut grass
The day marks the moment in history when America broke free from the rule of the British Empire.
It was on July 4, 1776, that the Declaration of Independence was adopted by delegates to the Second Continental Congress in Philadelphia.
The change came amidst great political upheaval during the American Revolution in which 13 North American colonies joined forces to legally separate from Great Britain after rejecting royalist rule.
The British Sovereign of the time was King George III.
