You're right that the lyrics might not be altogether "pure," but the delivery is crystalline!

In a good way of course :)

I think it's sort of dirty... I mean you can see in Dylan songs how he expects women to be "pure" and you can trace that back all the way to Boots of Spanish Leather ("Just carry yourself back to me unspoiled"), and in this song you have this wildcat who can't read or write

Pure is the right word for it, yeah. And open, wide open. Where now?

This seems to come into my head a lot when it's way too early and I'm drinking coffee while driving to work or heading out on a long journey... Such a great, pure song.

Your sister sees the future, like your mother and yourself. You’ve never learned to read or write, there’s no books upon your shelf! And your pleasure knows no limits, your voice is like a meadowlark! But your heart is like an ocean - mysterious and dark!

I love the version from November 13th, 1975, in New Haven (early show). I think Bob throws off his backing musicians so that no one quite knows what anyone is doing, but the weird-ass timing/phrasing makes for one hell of an introduction to the track (through the end of the first chorus, at which point it comes back together again slowly).

Cute as imyourman's avatar is, I'm afraid he's mistaken. One official release (Desire) does indeed call the song One More Cup of Coffee, but two others (At Budokan and The Bootleg Series, Vol. 5) call it One More Cup of Coffee (Valley Below). So I say it's up to you: take your pick! I for one think it's cooler with the subtitle.
