About the Skyscraper Center

The Skyscraper Center, maintained and updated by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, is the premier source for accurate, reliable information on tall buildings around the world.

The Skyscraper Center is based on building data collected by the Council for more than 40 years. All the data is made available to the public as part of the Council's mission to disseminate the latest knowledge on tall buildings and facilitate discussions on the development of urban environments.

The site seeks to provide a detailed "profile page" for every tall building existing internationally, as well of thousands of projects in various stages of development. Each profile page hosts images, facts, project team information, news and related links about the project. The data is then organized to provide users with the ability to create specific lists and evaluate the latest trends.

The Council relies on its extensive member network and the public to maintain the Skyscraper Center, and encourages users to share building Information and images. The Skyscraper Center Team updates building information on a daily basis, and would be happy to answer any questions or comments.

The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, a not-for-profit group based at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, is the world's leading resource for all those involved in the creation and operation of tall buildings and cities of the future. The group conducts independent research and facilitates the exchange of the latest knowledge available to professionals and the public around the world, through events, publications and its international network of country representatives.

The CTBUH developed the international standards for measuring tall building height and is recognized as the arbiter for bestowing such designations as "The World's Tallest Building."
