Hi, I’m Lindsay – a lifestyle and wedding photographer based in Fort Mill, South Carolina. After four years of business, I knew that I was ready for a change. When you own your own business and YOUR NAME is at the forefront of what you do, you want your product to be TRUE to who YOU are! Yes, I loved my old look . . . it was me THEN. I just wanted my new look to be ME NOW! I wanted everything to speak to the heart of why it is that I have this business in the first place and it took time and development as an artist and business owner to know that.

Lindsay Alexander

I decided to jump head first into a complete overhaul and re-brand of my business which was unveiled in April. (You can read all about the process here.) It was a four month journey from start to finish that included a new logo, rebuilding a new website and blog, new products, a business video, new processes (from a business side), new opportunities for my clients, new marketing and NEW packaging.

Lindsay Alexander

Lindsay Alexander

Lindsay Alexander

It was a TON of hard work and many late nights of decision making. In the end, I am so happy with the final outcome and a “look” that truly reflects who I am and what my business is all about.

Lindsay Alexander

Lindsay Alexander

Lindsay Alexander

One of the most fun parts of the re-brand was designing my new marketing and packaging. When I began to envision my custom packaging I knew that I wanted everything to have a very personal touch. With so many things manufactured these days, there is something about holding something someone MADE and personalized in your hands that always feels, I dunno, warm and inviting.

Lindsay Alexander

Lindsay Alexander

Lindsay Alexander

I wanted packaging that looked like me and spoke to the heart of the details that I care so much about. I also wanted everything to coordinate, feel organic and have a purpose. I found ways to implement my signature metallic gold, black, white, kraft and my fun chevron print as the bones of my design. I then worked to create something that was beautiful, meaningful and practical for my clients.

Here is the vendor information for the photos and products shown above:

Lindsay Alexander Photography

1. Business cards were designed by me and ordered from VistaPrint
on their new high-quality thick stock. I love them! I hand-painted
the edges myself. LOVE how they turned out!

2. My postcards were designed by me and ordered from VistaPrint -
their standard postcards. Practical and perfect for their purpose.
They are lots of fun to send!

3. My small treat bags for my little clients along with my larger
muslin bags are from Celestial Gifts.

4. My stamps were designed by me and ordered through
    RubberStamps.net.

5. My vertical hang-tags are basically vertical business cards with
my image on the front and basic info on the back. They are a linen
    texture from VistaPrint.

6. My kraft DVD sleeves are from ReBinder. I have used them all
four years of my business and just love them. They look great,
work great and are RECYCLED materials. The best part!

7. My gold and white twine is from The Twinery.

8. Both trifolds were designed by me and were printed through
WHCC on their watercolor paper. I LOVE the quality and feel
of these. They are really beautiful.

9. Kraft bags and tissue are from Hobby Lobby and when they
go on sale (which they always do), I stock up! Inside are
usually prints that are inserted into bags with backing board
    from ClearBags.com.

10. My wedding boxes are from Paper Source. I have also used
them for my boxes for four years. The quality is GREAT and I
love that these have a nubby, recycled paper quality to them.

I bought the tiny brown paper sacks from a vendor on Etsy. I tuck a business card inside and clip it with a miniature clothespin I found for $2.00 a box on clearance at Walmart.

The baker’s twine is from Etsy.

I bought the twine from our local farm store when they were marked down and out in a clearance bin.

All ribbon/lace was purchased at our local Hobby Lobby.

The burlap, which is cut into strips, was also purchased at Hobby Lobby.

The tissue paper was purchased at Target. The little back chalkboard ‘thank you’ tag is actually just black card stock with a hole punched in it.

My business cards and some of the stickers and mini cards are from Moo.

The stickers I use to seal the tissue paper are from WHCC. The 5×5 press printed square is also from WHCC and I use the other side to hand write a thank you note.

The petal enclosure is what I use for discs of digital files and the 5×5 card fits right on top of it. I buy those from The Paper Source. I seal the enclosure with one of the Moo stickers.

The 3×3 accordions are from WHCC and are sometimes one of the little gifts I give my clients.

The following is what goes into my bridal packets: Some of the press printed products are purchased from WHCC others are from ProDPI.

The templates were purchased from Design Aglow.” -Erica, Erica Clark Photography

“I was trying to find an affordable but clever way to deliver products to my clients and came across this idea about 2 years ago. I started out making bags for just larger orders. Clients loved them. When my daughter got married we had purchased 30+ yards of burlap for table runners so I began making burlap bags for all my clients (small and large), CD wraps, etc.

I print my logo on printable fabric sheets, sewing those on the front, and add rope handles. The idea was to re-purpose the burlap but now it has become my branded packaging. I use Kraft colored labels and paper/envelopes with my logo stamped on. Everything is wrapped with Jute or colored twine. I picked up some “Happy Notes” from Anthropologie to hand write a happy note thanking them for spending their day with me. And for the holidays I ordered mini holiday-themed “Warm Wishes” wooden hang-tags from Pick your Plum (not pictured) and added those to all the holiday orders.

The totes are quick and easy to make (I usually make a stock full of sizes up in one day). My clients can reuse them to take their lunch or favorite book to work and my label is right on the front.”

“I love the color combination of black, silver, and aqua blue. These colors are usually easy to find at my local craft stores which helps when finding the extras to making my packaging go beyond the ordinary. I love, love, love the sparkly white clothespins. They are great to attach notes, business cards, or tags to my bags. The little white boxes are fantastic for USB drives. I just love the silver thank you charm that I found at Michael’s to complete it. The standard black boxes for 8×10 prints have been jazzed up with ribbon, flowers, and damask tissue paper. Great to spice up the otherwise boring black box!” -Serena, Serena Smith Photography

“As part of our re-branding we are pulling together a packaging look that matches our blue, silver and black colour scheme and our heart motif. We don’t have all the pieces of the packaging yet but I did have some great Christmas packaging (gift labels and small paper snowflakes) which made up for our missing pieces and created a unique Christmas time packaging look. All our of packaging material is local sourced from wherever we see something that fits our look.

Our large albums are wrapped in silver paper with blue and white bows with white paper snowflakes (which will be replaced with white or silver hearts during the rest of the year). Our small albums, CDs, and DVDs are placed in blue or silver gift bags with a gift label and a small glass heart ornament.

Our unframed prints are rolled in a mailing tube and wrapped in silver paper with white organza ribbon topped with blue and black satin ribbon. Our framed prints, canvases and other wall hangings are wrapped in blue paper and tied with a glitter ribbon topped with a black satin ribbon and finished off with a silver heart.

All of our wedding clients receive a bottle of wine as a wedding present which we present in a silver gift bag and a custom designed congratulations card featuring a few of our favorite images from past weddings.” -Sarah, S&W Photography

“As we enter into 2013, ShoMore Photography is moving towards a more simple, natural approach to our product line. All of our boxes are hemp boxes from Loktah, along with our business cards. The hemp boxes provide a nice packaging option for our client’s print orders from each of their sessions.

With increasing technology and to provide better and more instant resources, all of our sessions are available for download to our clients. But clients have the option to purchase our all natural Walnut Wooden USB drives provided through Pexagon. Each USB is placed into their own hemp boxes, and are adorned with the same green raffia bow as the client’s print boxes are. We finally tie our business card off with some twine, simply taping the card to it, to allow the clients to be able to pass our cards off to our next potential client.”

“Boxes and bags are from HB Photo Packaging. Love them! And the elastic bows are life-savers! I work from the same premise as the ‘little black dress’ these boxes can be dressed up – or are classic left plain! Stickers are from Zazzle – I always order x-large and small and I use them EVERYWHERE. Envelopes are from Staples – great for cds – they look just like a shutter! I include gum balls with each order as a thank you. (I’m a bubble gum addict!) You can find any color at Party City or Amazon.

I am always on the look out for ‘company colors’ and pick up and containers/wrapping paper where I find it – found several of the green tubes and use them for gift certificates and auction donations. (They are attention grabbers for sure!)

Our company provides portrait sessions that are ‘creative, relaxed (and FUN!)’ and I think our packaging really reflects this!”
