It is with great sadness that we must report the passing of a beloved member of the LACBA family, Samuel L. Lipsman, Director of Publications and publisher and editor of
Los Angeles Lawyer Magazine.

He was a dedicated and well-respected colleague whose knowledge and passion for the law was evident to each of us and those he worked with throughout the Los Angeles legal community. He will truly be missed.

The Los Angeles County Bar Association is saddened to report the passing of Lorraine Loder, a long-time volunteer leader and LACBA member since 1978.

Lorraine served in many leadership positions, including as a Trustee, Chair of the Individual Rights Section, and as a member of the Fair Judicial Election Practices, Outstanding Jurist Award, and Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section Committees, among many others.

Lorraine was also a past president of LACBA affiliate Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles. Lorraine was a dedicated volunteer and a well-respected lawyer and will be deeply missed by her many friends and colleagues. Information about a memorial will be posted when it is available.
