So it is true... Jean Luc Picard hates chubby kids that eat truffles :) I knew it! Hey brotha, I just got back from a trip to DC and then to South Padre. Hope things are well with you. My vacation(s) were fantastic. Now if I can just talk Satan into taking his weather back O_o

Lol! Your avatar is hysterical. Typical 'man-left-with-the-children' scenario! :)

About Me

-If someone says "That's impossible." you should understand it as: "According to my very limited experience and narrow understanding of reality, that's very unlikely."

-"Even after all this time, the Sun never says to the Earth, "You owe me." look what happens with a love like that, it lights the whole sky."-Hafiz 1325-1390

I am constantly amazed at the music that I find appealing, and it's rarely ever mainstream unless it has a winning hook. Not a huge fan of corporate style, pre-packaged acts, aimed at a specific demographic. I believe music should stir the soul, invoke memories, affect your well being, and be a truly trans-formative experience. When I was much younger, I used to imagine myself the "perennial hipster", never looking down on new music as lacking in substance, always keeping with the latest styles. Now that I'm older, and apparently only marginally more wise, I realize that keeping up with the world of music is a good idea, but not always a satisfying thing. It's ironic that the recent explosion of electronic media hasn't made it any easier to find great music, I find it's actually made it far more difficult. More people than ever before have access to share their love of music, and musical talents, but unfortunately, it seems to me that with the flooding of the airwaves has come an almost cultural "white noise", and finding a hidden gem of talent in all of that is a time consuming at best. I guess that's what makes Last.FM my go to for new music, discovering bands I love on here has become almost an "organic" experience. A proud geek, I revel in all things geeky and pop culture-ish, and absolutely love to tinker with computers. I am well traveled, but not as well read as I like, I paint murals, draw photo-realistic pictures of autos and buildings, and enjoy everything about classic cars. My life's ambition is to become fabulously wealthy by having someone pay me absurd amounts of money just to be myself. I grew up in the 80's and have an intense nostalgia for an era that seemed incredibly innocent compared to how we now live, and I fondly wish we could have some of that innocence back, and maybe just a bit more of the free time we used to have before media and electronics filled our every waking moment. In fact, I am even pondering going as e-free as possible in 2011. We'll see if that actually happens, because being online is awfully addictive...
